Back Street - Kannur

Revisiting my home town, Kannur and walking through the old city of Kannur where I had not been before I doubt whether i could feel nostalgic for a place I had never been before?. Perhaps it maybe because I talked to an old shop keeper named Aziz ( picture above )who explained to me on the History of the old fort road and the old city of Kannur near the fishing harbor. He explained to me about the story of British rule who took over the Arakkal family and the rulers of that time and how the face of Kannur changed there after. The ruins and the abandoned buildings here does not leave much trace of its history on the outer but a casual walk through the old streets will leave you wondering why this place is not the city centre now, even with the presence of a natural harbor and a traditional sea port near by and even though Kannur is the 4th largest urban agglomeration in the state of Kerala.

Through the Hippie trail

Saturday night market near Anjuna beach Goa is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the territory. If you are one who heads to Goa in search of the hippie trail and to get a feel of the 60's and 70's, then ask the locals for the hippie beach which is the other name for Anjuna. If you believe in love, peace and freedom of mind then don't miss the like minded free spirits who flocks into Anjuna every year from different parts around the globe.
